Let’s face it, each Board is unique and so while a cookie cutter Board Retreat may get your board revved up, the excitement is usually temporary and you are left with no sustainable action plan.

Pre-retreat
  • Conversations with key individuals to identify the issues to be addressed.
  • Questionnaire developed around the issues identified.
  • Distribution of questionnaire to participants.
  • Compilation of data acquired.
Retreat
  • Facilitate discussion and activities based in the Appreciative Inquiry school of thought. Appreciative Inquiry is a positive approach to addressing change and has a variety of techniques that can be used. 
  • Create an actionable plan with assignable responsibilities and timelines.
Post-retreat
  • A retreat report and action plan is distributed to all participants.
